| Sometimes called “the little iron giant of Cape Meares”, this lighthouse is situated at the north end of the Three Capes Loop. It’s closest town is Tillamook, home to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and the Naval Air Station Museum.
Cape Meares Lighthouse was built in 1890, and at one time occupied a post office from within. Now it is a day-use only state park that includes two miles of the Oregon Coast Trail and a sprawling Sitka Spruce tree known as the Octopus Tree for its long tentacle-like branches.
